Great Snowshoeing

One of my favorite things to do on the trail in winter is snowshoe Centerville Canyon.

Utah's Wasatch Front has a lot of choices for snowshoeing, but I am partial to Centerville Canyon because
it is mostly untouched. You will see Moose, Mountain Lions, Deer and several other wildlife tracks to see in the snow.

The trail is mostly a north face, and follows the creek all the way up. You are not more than 20 feet from the creek for the most part. The trial is well groomed for at least 2 to 3 miles.

Generally I am the first one in the canyon in the morning so there will normally be a packed trial to follow. There are several foot bridge crossings. I keep the trial well groomed in the winter. Most of the time you have to park on the pavement and walk into the canyon before you can start shoeing to the trailhead. There are several ways to the trialhead. It generally is trial and error finding which path to take.
